Matt has a combined 15 years of experience in the real estate and finance industries.
Before joining CopperRock Real Estate, Matt worked for 4 ½ years a M Retail Solutions, a boutique real estate brokerage located in Grand Rapids specializing in retail clientele.
Prior to that, Matt spend a combined 10 years in corporate real estate and finance at both Spartan Stores (now SpartanNash), and a Grand Rapids-based business brokerage firm – The Charter Group.
Matt’s past experience includes both buy-side/tenant representation and sell-side/landlord representation, site selection and location analysis, property management and lease administration, ROI and financial analysis, business brokerage, and financial reporting and analysis.
Matt’s diverse skill set allows him to assist potential CopperRockRE clients in business planning, financial modeling, and high-level budgeting.
He regularly “rocks out” playing guitar and has a collection of over 25 Fender Telecasters and Stratocasters.
As an avid history buff he collects books on military history AND STRATEGY, as well as writes about military history topics.
Matt and his wife, Rachel, are also small business entrepreneurs, owning and operating a boutique hand-crafted ice cream shop (Furniture City Creamery) in Grand Rapids.
His two young border collies – Finn and Dora – that are the subject of caricatures at their ice cream shop.
A closet “car guy” who’s favorite vehicles are the 1970s & 1980s Chevy trucks and late 1970s Camaros.
Growing up, Matt did everything from working on a roofing crew, to working on a farm, to working on the grill line at the local McDonald’s. His favorite high school job was working as a sales clerks at the local hardware store.
